Las Bellas Fashion: Parisian Style

Spring time in Paris is specially beautiful and magnificent ….
We already spoke here previously in our blog about how much Bella M and I adore its beauty, fashion, food, architecture and all the other amazing things it offers. We also gave you some advice as to what you should pack if you're visiting the City of Love, but that post is from November and like the seasons change...so do our clothing options. Since it's Spring, I am bringing you my feeling of Parisian style. Here is the outfit I wore on my first day in this magical city.
I wore Banana Republic maxi dress, Elisabetta Franchi belt, H&M hat, Forever New bag, Longines watch, Oakley Bacon sunglasses, Eden wedges, Love Faith Hope bracelet, gold bangles from Zaks, and some blue bracelets which are presents from my sister.

Well…it’s official…summer is here (even if sometimes the weather doesn’t seem to cooperate) and what better way to welcome the hotter days than by giving your lovely hands some fun colors to flaunt…and let’s face it…nothing looks better during the summer months than fun colored nails. That’s why I love these limited edition nail polishes by Thakoon for Nars
...
The collaboration was inspired by Thakoon’s beautiful Spring 2012 collection. Let’s check out some pictures from that show:

Love your hair every day!

I have a lot of requests to share my hair “secrets” with you all. I will tell you how I take care of my hair which is very demanding since it’s highlighted. For me, it's one of the most important things when it comes to women’s look and it's the first indicator of how much we take care of ourselves.
Let's start with the fact that eating healthy is not only the key to a healthy body but also keep your hair nourished from the inside out. Make sure you have plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables in your every day meals, these are full of vitamins and minerals that improve your hair’s natural shine.
Be careful with the hair colors that you are using and try to use it as minimum as it possible. For example I love the Ombré Hair trend. Ombré color is a French word for shading or graduating. Besides that it looks very attractive, it also allows you a long time between highlighting your hair (which you have to agree can create some damages to your hair).

Beautiful under the Sun

For many years an unnatural dark tan was a synonym for beauty. I am very happy that today it's not the case any more. Natural color and glow of the skin is what is appreciated.
I have been against tanning beds (solariums) for a very long time. It's so damaging to your skin and I'm glad to hear that in some countries the use of a solarium is not encouraged, even forbidden for those under the age of 18. But still in some countries, like Australia, they remain popular.....well, this was a surprise for me since they have sun all the time and a pretty high number of sun cancer cases.
And of course, it is not just the solarium that can do damage...it is the ever present sun that we all encounter almost daily. It can be our biggest enemy of the skin if we don't use sunblock.
Even though I am tan most of the year because of my travels, I always use sunblock to protect my skin against aging and the dark spots the sun can cause. I am not here to tell you how bad the sun or the solarium is for your skin because I am sure that you already know that. I am here to share with you the products that I, myself, am using when it comes to the sun:

My crazy obsession with Tieks flats!

See new "home" for this post here:
http://www.princessmartha.com/2012/05/my-crazy-obsession-with-tieks-flats.html

Ladies, since we are so close now…I mean, I feel like we’re good friends…I’ve got to let you in on a little secret and that secret’s name is Tieks.
These adorable little ballet flats have taken over my closet and much to the dismay of my other shoes, I wear them almost everywhere. Not only do you not have to sacrifice fashion but you get the major added benefit of comfort…it’s a no-brainer, these shoes are a “must” have.
To tell you the truth, I fell in love with this brand because of their ads…they are so chic, fashionable and totally classy…so marketing does pay off (Tieks I hope you guys are reading this…your marketing team deserves a bonus or at the very least a big hug).
And while my heart has major attachment issues to red soled shoes (here’s looking at you Mr. Louboutin), my feet are completely obsessed with blue hues. I actually do love their signature blue colored sole, not to mention the patterns, color options and versatility which are all simply amazing!

Rome..Ti Amo!

Every time when I visit Rome, I adore its beauty like it’s my first time. There is so much to love here…food, music, language, fashion…This city has a soul, charm and something special..at least when you are tourist. Citizens must be going crazy from the traffic, but this is the place where you should drive Vespas.
It looks so chic even if you do it in high heels and dress. I can not hide my enthusiasm about amazing art collection in Museum Galleria Borghese assembled by Cardinal Scipione Borghese in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. The collection includes major works by Raphael, Rubens, Titian, Caravaggio, Bernini, Antonello da Messina and Canova. The most beautiful fountain in the world, fountain di Trevi, is the place where I can just sit for hours admiring its beauty and eating a delicious Italian gelato. This time around, I was able to enjoy my visit to Rome with my dear friend Vesna. We walked everywhere, enjoyed the art and the fountains…I was especially happy shopping for some of the amazing Italian fabrics that Rome has to offer. And after all that, you will need to refuel and recharge so I recommend that you don't miss Taverna Trilussa...for me, it's the home of the best pasta in the world, the ravioli Mimosa...DELIZIOSO!

Las Bellas Fashion: Hunter Boot Style

See new "home" for this post here:
http://www.princessmartha.com/2012/05/las-bellas-fashion-hunter-boot-style.html

Okay, Ladies…I don’t know how your weather is but lately Miami’s Mother Nature has been acting kind of bi-polar. We have had a lot of random rain showers…sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the evening but definitely everyday. Personally, I don’t mind the rain because we’re usually pretty spoiled here with the sunshine but I will admit that dressing for the rainy weather can be a little difficult. Thankfully I always have my Hunter boots to provide me a stylish footwear option.
I have been in obsessed with Hunter boots for years now and I’m apparently not the only one. Celebrities and fashionistas from all over have fallen in love with the rubber riding style rain boot. They’re totally practical and look effortlessly preppy chic.

Floral fantasies are all around you!

flowerHome01send_Cheap_flowers_Canadaspring-flowers
Ladies, we should never wait for a man to buy us flowers...this is something that we can enjoy anytime we want. Just the other day I bought a beautiful bouquet of pink roses to have their elegant scent fill my house...for me, that's a wonderful way to start my day. So treat yourself to some flowers or better yet, pump up your wardrobe with floral prints. They will definitely last you longer than those in the vase
Let's see how some famous ladies have done it:

Make a statement with a bold necklace!

See new "home" for this post here:
http://www.princessmartha.com/2012/05/make-statement-with-bold-necklace.html

So by now you must all know that I’m a pretty classic dresser. I’m not too funky or crazy with my clothing options…it just wouldn’t be true to who I am, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like to be bold…once in a while ;)
When I want to add a little more “power” to my look, I opt for a bold piece of jewelry and almost always chose to make it a necklace.
Even if you’re wearing a simple button down shirt like Bella B did here or with a silk blouse like I did here…a bold necklace can take your outfit from ordinary to fashionably chic in no time. It’s a great way to incorporate some color, bling, or artistic details into your look.
They are the perfect accessory for a special occasion, a casual lunch or a romantic date night…you can never be over or under dressed with these necklace options.
Personally, I love to wear bold crystal necklaces with a plain white or grey fitted tank top and my skinny jeans. I add some heels and I feel ready for anything. If I want to give the look an even more polished feel, I can add a blazer and be ready for a night out.
Celebrities have incorporated this trend on the red carpet and beyond. Take a look:Eva Mendes 2Heidi Klum

Las Bellas Fashion: UM-CARD Gala to benefit families with Autism

See new "home" for this post here:
http://www.princessmartha.com/2012/05/las-bellas-fashion-um-card-gala-to.html

Hi Ladies, this fashion post comes along with a socially important message. My hubby and I were graciously invited to University of Miami’s annual gala for their program CARD…thisis a wonderful organization that assists families that are affected by Autism.
It was a fabulous event which included a delicious sit-down dinner, a fantastic silent auction and a lots of applause and appreciation for all the countless people that work everyday to run this program.
The attire was dubbed “Miami Chic” so I wanted to wear something colorful and fun.
This is what I wore:
Nicole Miller Silk Dress (I personally love this dress. It’s so beautiful and because it’s made of silk, it has such wonderful movement. Makes me feel like a princess when I’m walking)
Christian Louboutin PVC strap heels (these heels have a “small” heel…only 3.5, so I knew I could stand during cocktail hour and still be able to dance later in the evening)
Vintage Gold lame clutch (I love finding vintage items and this bag is no exception)
Banana Republic earrings (these earrings matched the slight Middle Eastern motif that the band at the bust line has)

Cannes Film Festival Fashion Day 2

We keep following fashion from red carpet at Cannes. Here are the best dressed from Day 2.
cannes-rouilles-051712- (26)
Marion looked perfectly polished and elegant, this dress totally suits her personality.

Cannes Film Festival Fashion Day 1

As we see all the time, the stars come out in full force while bringing their A game of fashion when it comes to film premiers, film festivals and awards. And I, for one, would be totally disappointed if they didn’t...and I think Bella B would agree with me when I say that seeing the stars come out in these beautiful gowns, creative visions and outrageous combinations is actually why we watched the premiers, shows and events.
I want to see things that I don’t have in my closet, learn about the hot new designer dressing the “it” girl and see what looks work and what looks don’t…so for me, the Cannes Film Festival is le crème de la crème of it all.
You get celebrities, distinguished people, artistic visionaries, outlandish directors and the film world's elite. This is an event full of the most interesting of people from all over the world.
Day one of the event started yesterday and here is just a quick recap of the fashion we saw on the red carpet…each day we will bring you a brief review of the fashion and we’d love to hear what you guys think about what the stars are wearing to this prestigious event….so let’s check out the first couple looks:

See new "home" for this post here:

So I was at the fabulous Guess event a couple weeks back and I received a super fun goodie bag filled with all things Guess…and nothing is more “Guess” than their signature red color. So, of course…a lot of the things in the bag were in this direction…red.
These two things caught my eye and totally peak my interest:

Madrid Style!

01Madrid is one of the most amazing cities in Europe. It generates so many good things in one place :art, beautiful architecture, fun night life, great restaurants and nice shopping. The most magnificent place is The Buen Retiro Park with a small lake where you can rent boats and drive them with your loved one or just enjoy the beautiful sculptures, monuments and galleries. The park belonged to the Spanish Monarchy until late 19th century.Today it’s a public place that hosts various events.

Crochet & Lace…as classic as can be, as modern like never before!

See new "home" for this post here:
http://www.princessmartha.com/2012/05/crochet-laceas-classic-as-can-be-as.html

Ladies, I don’t know if you’ve noticed…but I'm having a slight obsession with lace and crochet.
I’ve wore it here and here…so it’s definitely a trend that I incorporated into my wardrobe. I love that it is classy, feminine and can be either super elegant or really fun. Now, in the past…we may have thought that crochet and lace were outdated styles, but as we have seen all over…it’s a modernized classic that looks like it’s here to stay.
I absolutely adored  Oscar de la Renta’s spring/summer 2012 collection where lace and crochet were everywhere….take a look

Las Bellas’ Prom Style

Young Ladies, it’s that time of the year where the school year’s end draws near and the event of the calendar year is coming…PROM! It is a fond memory for both of us to remember our prom. And we understand what you’re going through.…how will you wear your hair, what color for the nails, what height in the shoes, what type of makeup and of course…the biggest thing of it all “What dress am I going to wear?”.
Actually, despite the minor stress, picking a dress for prom is super fun and it’s a great excuse to let your inner diva shine…because the dress should make you feel like a star, like a princess and above all…the dress should make you feel extra special for your big night out.
We decided to show you 20 options for prom dresses. We picked them out in a variety of price ranges and broke them down into length. And we did try to pick dresses that incorporated some of the trends we’ve been talking about here lately (florals, bold colors, pastels), but mostly we chose dresses that we liked…and we hope you’ll like to.
Let’s start with these floor length gowns. We think this length always feels formal and a bit “royal” and if this is the vibe you’re going for then we definitely think you’ll want to check out these great options. One thing we loved about these options is that they are flowly, so you won’t be constricted when dancing the night away…

Las Bellas Fashion: A La Folie for dinner

See new "home" for this post here:
http://www.princessmartha.com/2012/05/las-bellas-fashion-la-folie-for-dinner.html

Hi Ladies, this post I don’t have any absolutely fabulous fashionable event to share with you but I do have an event that was important to me. I went to A La Folie restaurant with my French class to celebrate the end of the term. I have been taking French for over two years…and I love it. It’s my favorite language and learning something you love makes learning pretty fun. The place we chose for our “last dinner” is a super cute place located on Espanola Way in South Beach. It’s a French place where their specialties are crepes…which happen to be amazing.

Would you like to eat them or wear them? Either choice will affect your mood. Bright and clorofful pastels always make my day, and so do those sweets. I don’t know if it just me having obsession with sweets Smile, but every time I see those pastels they reminds me on macaroons and colored candies.
Many designers used pastels for spring / summer 2012...and you've probably already seen this trend popping up everywhere but here I have chosen to show you my favourite items.

Black & White…a classic not to be overlooked this season.

See new "home" for this post here:
http://www.princessmartha.com/2012/05/black-whitea-classic-not-to-be.html

Well, Ladies…you’ll be happy to know that this is one trend that won’t have you running out to the stores in order to complete the look…because I am totally confident that you all have at least one black and white outfit. This is the great thing about fashion…it always comes back full circle. So invest in great pieces when you can, take care of them and just patiently wait for the trend to come back…because it always does.

Black and white is nothing new but it is a stand out during this Spring/Summer’s vibe of bright colors and pastels. And honestly, I love the simplicity of black and white. It always looks polished, trendy and classic. Check out some celebrities that feel the same way (side note: all these images came from www.celebuzz.com…a great site for celebrity pictures):

MET Gala 2012 Red Carpet

The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala is often called the Oscars of the fashion industry, where we could see divine looks of many celebrities that attended the Upper East Side red carpet. This year the Costume Institute gala celebrated the opening of its new style exhibit “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations”. The exhibit explores the striking affinities between two Italian designers from different eras, Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada. It’s going to be open to the public on May 10th until August 19th.
I picked my favourite looks from this glamorous event, hope you will enjoy it like I did and share with me your favourites.

Anna Dello Russo for H&M

imageThis time H&M's guest designer is Japan Vogue's fashion director and personal fashion goddess Anna Dello Russo. It is the first time that a company is taking a fashion director from a magazine to design. She is well known for her extravagant style, so this will be a real refreshment for H&M. There is so much to love about her unique and edgy style so there is no doubt that she will be designing "one of a kind" looks.
She worked closely with H&M creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch on the range of accessorise that include sunglasses, shoes and bags. It will hit the H&M stores in October.

Color jeans are perfect for any occasion!

See new "home" for this post here:
http://www.princessmartha.com/2012/05/color-jeans-are-perfect-for-any.html

Well Ladies…one thing I have to admit to you is that when I like something, I sometimes tend to go overboard and buy it multiple times…
I know, I know…it’s a bit of a shopaholic syndrome but thankfully for my bank account, it doesn’t happen that often….
But I wll tell you that I totally fell in love with the color jean trend. I think this is a trend that can be sophisticated or it can be casual....but always, it's super fun! I wear my color jeans (see below) all the time. I pair them with blazers or flowy tops, to fitted dress shirts and chunky sweaters…they work for any occasion you have on your calendar.

Las Bellas Fashion: Cinco de Mayo at Soho Beach House

See new "home" for this post here:
http://www.princessmartha.com/2012/05/las-bellas-fashion-cinco-de-mayo-at.html

Hi Ladies!!
So yesterday was Cinco de Mayo which is the 5th of May…a Mexican born holiday with strong United States marketing power…it’s basically an excuse to get together with friends, drink plenty of margaritas and have a fun time.
We (my husband and I) went to meet up with some friends at the super exclusive members’ only Soho Beach House in Miami Beach for the day. We had a great time catching up, soaking up the sun and really enjoying the beautiful weather. The Soho Beach House held a great party and included a wonderful Mariachi band to serenade us while we sipped tropical beverages and champagne ;) Definitely a great way to spend a Saturday!

Flared Dress

The fitted, boned bodice balances a voluminous skirt, shaping a '50s-inspired silhouette is my favourite look these days. Fashion of the 50’s was just fabulous. I was thrilled when I saw last year Dolce&Gabbana collection for spring /summer 2012…and of course the one and only Monica Bellucci was perfect pick for this campaign.

Flared dresses are beautiful and feminine, reminds me of old movies and a time when a woman’s beauty was sophisticated and mysterious, under longer flared dresses and skirts.
The other day I was wearing :
Guess black flared dress,
BCBG sandals and belt,
Prada Bag,
Oakley Frogskin sunglasses,
Forever New bracelets.IMG_9966new

“Show the Road” in Belgrade

Hi Ladies,
Last night in Belgrade 25 Serbian designers showed their views of the current trends and their visions for future tendencies in the Serbian fashion scene. I am always happy to see how many talented and creative designers we have. Each of them presented their own individual interpretation of the trends. It was great to see such a huge amount of diverse styles and many different viewpoints in one place.

Chanel’s timeless jacket and all its fabulous inspirations…

See new "home" for this post here:
http://www.princessmartha.com/2012/05/chanels-timeless-jacket-and-all-its.html

Ladies, there is one word that I find absolutely synonymous with class and sophistication…and that word is of course, Chanel! This brand, started by the iconic Coco Chanel. She was a woman with her own rules and ideas of what was feminine..and that included wearing and designing men inspired clothing.
Coco-Chanel-Coco-Chanel-1-020Coco-Chanel-Working
I think that one of the most important designs that Miss Chanel created was the tweed jacket.
