Pretty Pleats

One of the trends I really like for this season are pleats because they show the feminine and romantic touches of woman. The soft and flowing silhouettes from 50’s and 20’s were inspiration for a new style featuring the use of pleats for 2012 season.
Even though this is a trend that is coming back now, we can expect this presence for a longer period of time. Last year there was an exhibition organized by the Musée Galliera in Paris to the memory of great Madame Grès (1903-1993), well known for her feminine iconic pleated styles. She was a real artist saying : “I wanted to be a sculptor. For me, it’s the same thing to work the fabric or the stone” . And I must say she had the point, pleated fabrics are truly like a peace of art.

Less is definitely more with these strappy heels…

Skinny has been overlooked…and in the world of fashion, you might argue that it’s not possible…but alas, Lovely Ladies, it has happened. In the whirlwind obsession of platform heels and mighty high wedges, the once popular skinny strappy heel was neglected and ignored.
But designers are starting to bring it back and celebrities are showing up everywhere with the skinny heel sandal.

This past Wednesday, I (Bella M) was able to attend a fabulous event at Neiman Marcus in Coral Gables. It was an event organized by the wonderful Annie Vasquez (The Fashion Poet) and enjoyed by fashion bloggers from all over Miami. These events are a great way to bring bloggers together where we can meet, share ideas and inspire each other.
Mostly, I was so surprised to see how supportive everyone was of each other. There is a home for every voice in the virtual world…so honestly, the more the merrier.
The best thing that I took from the blogger panel was: “don’t be afraid to do a blog”…things will fall into place if you just keep working on it. And that’s very comforting to know…especially for new bloggers like Bella B and myself.
So, as we grow and change every day to get better, we are so grateful to find such a supportive group of fellow bloggers to lean on for support, advice and inspiration…and of course, we are so grateful for all you guys: our fabulous, stylish, amazing readers! So enough with the emotional pep talk…let’s get to the fashion, shall we?….

I chose to wear something something with a bright color and then I accented it with an even brighter color accessory…and you know what. It worked out great.

Christian Louboutin Miss Boxe Patent Wedges (side note: these are my most comfortable heels and because I knew I was attending two events in one night, I wanted to be able to “survive” and still look good. I definitely recommend this style for anyone. Patent give it a dressed-up appeal while the wedge gives you comfort)

Las Bellas Fashion: Monte Carlo Style

Ladies, it is always a pleasure to visit this place of elegance and finesse. I adore its tidiness, quietness and royal manners. We just posted to you our thoughts about Monte Carlo but now, I give you a personal look into Monte Carlo fashion.
It doesn't matter whether you travel to this city during the Grand Prix Formula 1 or the tennis Masters Series tournament, you will always see luxurious dressed people.
The women here are very well styled, look beautifully healthy and it's obvious that they take great care of their looks...which I love to see. Monte Carlo is all about elegance and it's a place where you can feel free to wear your favourite special occasion dresses, like I did during my last visit.

Pointed shoes- they are not for everybody, but deserves attention

Christian Louboutin started this trend with his fabulous Pigalle pumps and later they are spotted on tons of celebrities on the red carpet, all eager to show off their elegant silhouette. When pointed shoes came as a major trend for this year, we began to see see them in many styles. There are some with dramatic pointed toe , others with a kitten heel, pointed toe flats and my personal favourite...the slightly pointed toe with very high heel.

Launching this revolution has been of course the extremely popular show “Mad Men”…a show that gives us a glimpse into the lives of powerhouse advertising agents in the 1960’s. From the stylish décor to the ever present martini lunches…the most important and glamorous aspect is without a doubt the fashion.

Bella M was invited to preview the collection of local Miami designer Tanya Marie last week. Tanya Marie has been designing clothes for a while but this is her official Tanya Marie store…although you may recognize her name from boutiques all around the world including in the glamorous town of St. Tropez…or you may have even seen her designs on the likes of Jessica Simpson, Kimora Lee Simmons and Jada Pinkett Smith…however if you haven’t heard of her, we believe that she will definitely be a name to remember in fashion.
Her designs capture the very essence of elegant, tropical, fun places…they’re flowy fabrics, funky colors, jeweled necklines and with lots of sex appeal…it’s no wonder she chose Miami for her permanent store location.

Come along for a gondola ride to Venice...‏

Romance is a very subjective thing...there are so many different ideas of what romantic moments and romantic places mean to each of us. But one place that we feel is synonymous with romance is Venice. The minute you debark into this city of water, you will feel strong emotions and feelings.
This city doesn’t have to work hard to seduce you...the appeal captures you the moment you see the sunset, or see your first gondola go by.

Las Bellas Fashion: Bella B at Fashion Week in Belgrade

Bella B had the pleasure of heading to Amstel Fashion Week in Belgrade. With new creative people always emerging, the Serbian fashion world is definitely one to enjoy.
There were very interesting collections by talented young Serbian designers like Milica Opačič, Tijana Žunić, Živko Stoilov, Jovana Marković i Aleksandra Žiravac as well as students od Academy of Fine Arts.

Although it's spring time, the weather was not exactly feeling friendly so a quick change of wardrobe plans brought out Bella B's favourite boots and some elegant style pieces. The combination was interesting and unexpected...but that's fashion. You can't plan everything and sometimes the spontaneous outfits are the ones that look the best.
