Romance is a very subjective thing...there are so many different ideas of what romantic moments and romantic places mean to each of us. But one place that we feel is synonymous with romance is Venice. The minute you debark into this city of water, you will feel strong emotions and feelings.
This city doesn’t have to work hard to seduce you...the appeal captures you the moment you see the sunset, or see your first gondola go by.

We fell in love with Venice and all its imperfections...which to us are the soul and charm of this romantic city. There is great elegance, history, architecture and art here. Let yourself get lost in this “sinking city”. The further you get from the hectic tourist crowds, the more you’ll feel your pulse elevate with the excitement and wonder that is Venice. Wondering around the streets may take you to a peaceful hidden mistral spot or perhaps you’ll meet a handsome Venetian Casanova ready to sweep you off your feel. There is allure around every corner here.
We thing the best way to get to “feel” the romance and soul of Venice is to stay over night and wake up early the next morning...only then will you be able to witness the peaceful morning with the Venetian workers cleaning the piazza di San Marco, catch a view of the small boats coming in with their fresh catches, watch the pigeons flying around and enjoying the sun before the streets become covered with the tourist crowd (over 18 million people visit Venice every year...we don’t know how the Venetians handle it!).
Here, before the city has awoken is where you fall in love with Venice.

Venice is world-renowned for its many bridges, each one of them having their own history and story.
Ponte di Rialto is the oldest and most famous Venetian bridge crossing the Grand Canal. It was first built in 1181 (yes...it’s very old) by Nicolo Barattiere and called “Ponte della Monte”. It has been a witness to many historical moments of this floating city. Another bridge we love is the “Bridge of Sighs”...it’s very popular among young lovers. According to the local legend, if a couple kisses under the bridge in a gondola at sunset, their destiny is eternal love. Ahhh....romance is alive and all around in Venice. And for you love birds heading there, there is no better way to create a romantic moment than with a gondola ride...you, your loved one and Venice...simply perfection.

Of course there are the relaxing cafes at Florian or Laverna where you will find them making delectable cappuccinos, feeding your ears with Italian music and giving you a lovely view of what is going on all around...but don’t be surprised when the check comes, this kind of enjoyment comes with a high price...but to do once, it’s definitely worth it.
For a unique souvenir look for Murano glasses, jewels and accessories. This famous product comes from the Venetian island of Murano, just off the shore of Venice. And of course, you can’t leave here without a beautiful Venetian mask, so begin preparing a wall in your home for at least one of these intricate gifts.
Whether you chose this city during Carnival, Film Festival or the Venice Historical Regatta, you will have a chance to appreciate one of the greatest treasures of this city...art! Venice has such a deep history of art and it played a very significant role during the Renaissance period. Venice has a very unique artistic style and thus has giving birth to a very distinct school of painting. There is something about the geographical isolation, the relationship between colours and lights and the religious undertones that make its art special. Tiziano Vecellio, Jacopo Tintoretto, Canaletto, Paolo Veronese and Lorenzo Lotto are just one of the biggest artists whose work you simply can’t miss while visiting Venice. And without a doubt, the churches and basilicas will also be a wonderful visit for all you art lovers.

So, now...what to pack for this city of romance, art and water...well, we can’t help but be drawn to these blue hues and soft palette. We think these 6 things are absolutely perfect for this city.
