Last night in New York wasn’t fashion week, but you could feel the same atmosphere. Donatella Versace launched her collection for H&M on a pier in the Hudson River. The show delivered true Versace passion with a flare for the style that Donatella has made her own.
It wasn’t just a fashion show, it was glamorous event with a performance from Nicki Minaj and Prince…both who happen to be good friends with Donatella…but hey, it’s Donatella Versace we’re talking about…we wouldn’t expect anything less.
“The collection for H&M is the essence of Versace, for the collaboration we’ve brought back from the archives, as well as from more recent collections, some of the icons of Versace, such as the bright prints, the Greek key, and daring cuts. I can’t wait to see how H&M’s wide audience will make these pieces their own" says Donatella Versace.
Of course it wouldn’t be New York nor a true Versace show without a slew of celebrities to bring their beauty to the “black” carpet. The A-listers were out in full force to support the fashionable collaboration and we loved that everyone sported an item from the H&M Versace collection.
For someone, wearing bright colors with leopard print and Greek keys can be kitschy, but for most, it’s a dream come true to be able to purchase a piece from such a legendary design house at such an affordable price. Most of all, we’re all curious to know how this new collection of Versace for H&M looks…so here it is, with its leopard prints, bright colors, palm tree patterns, and gold metal detailing. We’re most intriged about the Gianni-era inspired pieces. Here you will find neon prints, a hot pink and studded body-con dress and even a studded leather jacket.
And not to be forgotten, Versace for H&M has also included some wonderful costume jewelry pieces and great home accessories.
Here are our top picks:
Ladies, this is not going to be easy. Chances are you WILL have to stay in line (for multiple hours…so wear comfy shoes) to get your polished hands on one of these items…but we definitely give it the Las Bellas approval and say, if you’ve got the patience and the time…run, don’t walk, to your nearest H&M (or you could just order online and beat the mad rush)!
